It is aimed at certified Freediving Level 3 *** / MASTER FREEDIVER divers who wish to delve into more advanced techniques and specialized knowledge and dive deeper safely.

The purpose of the training seminar and the trainers is for the participants to acquire specialized knowledge and skills on advanced modern techniques of freediving and middle ear pressure equalization, to deepen οn human body physiology and in the methods of relaxation, breathing, and self-concentration. Also, all those techniques and practices ensure a safe approach of great depths and competing activity.

By gaining this experience, you will understand the requirements of a training program needed to achieve a freediving goal, plan and organize training in the pool and sea, and provide the essential safety to deep freedivers. This seminar is the cornerstone for the further development of the amateur free diver into a freediving athlete.

At the end of the seminar, you will be able to hold your breath for at least 4 minutes, perform a dynamic apnea of 80 meters and dive to depths of up to 40 meters with comfort and safety. You will also have the opportunity to try the technique of variable weights, and gain great comfort in freediving with the technique of Free Immersion.

Content

The theoretical part of this program, which includes at least sixteen lessons of one hour and takes place in the FreedivingWW auditorium or online through a particular platform, analyzes all that helpful information that will prepare participants for their upcoming free diving in the pool and sea.

 The subjects taught include:

  • Specialized techniques in static apnea
  • Specialized techniques in dynamic apnea (DYN / DYNB / DNF)
  • Specialized diving techniques (CWT / CNF / CWTB / CWTM / VWT / FRC dives / RV dives)
  • Specialized freediving equipment and specialized auxiliary equipment for the pool and open sea
  • Advanced physiology of freediving and physiopathology
  • Upper respiratory tract anatomy and advanced middle ear pressure equalization techniques / Natural equalization methods and dry equalization practice
  • Diving response and effects of the marine environment on the human body (Diving Response)
  • The diving reflex of the human body (Mammalian Dive Reflex)
  • Freediving and decompression sickness (DCS)
  • Physical conditioning for free diving and training approach (CO2 tolerance, Low O2 tolerance, Interval training, Resistance training, Stationary bicycle tables)
  • Specialization in pulmonary stretching and lungs preparation for depth
  • Advanced relaxation and self-concentrating techniques
  • Risks and safety precautions in sports/ TRAINING activity
  • Safety freediver system practice
  • First aid in a diving accident and procedures flow chart
  • Recovery and nutrition for apnea

Subsequently, in the practical part of the training seminar, the participants, through the corresponding visits in the pool and the sea, perform a predetermined series of customized exercises to lay the right foundations and experiences in the following subjects:

  • Identification of the ideal pattern and relaxation process for each candidate.
  • Gradual implementation of the self-concentration technique of choice
  • Breathing technique of preparation and rehabilitation
  • Static Apnea (STA)
  • Dynamic Apnea with all techniques (DYNM / DYNB / DNF)
  • Advanced techniques for equalizing the pressure in the middle ear / Natural methods of equalization (Rev. Pack, Mouthfill, Mouthfill on Demand)
  • Accelerated Free Fall
  • Constant weight diving (CWT)
  • Free Immersion diving (FIM)
  • Variable weights diving (VWT)
  • Passive exhalation diving (FRC dives)
  • Residual volume diving (RV dives)
  • Equalization speed development
  • Training with the use of tables (CO2 tolerance, Low O2 tolerance)
  • Risks and safety measures
  • Safety diver system practice
  • Diver rescue protocol and first aid from a depth of 15 meters
  • Specialized muscle and lung stretching aiming to increase TLC and decrease RV (Full body and lung stretching session)
